Scholarships - Your hometown educated

In 2017, one of our incredibly generous former board members approached the Sterling Foundation about creating a scholarship for local students. Recognizing that pride in our students is a key part of celebrating Sterling’s identity, the Sterling Foundation created the Sterling Foundation Scholarship Program. We awarded our first scholarships in 2018.
This year, we will have three scholarships available; $5,000 in total, with one $3,000 and two $1,000 awards. As an organization that values our volunteers and commitment to our community, a major component for selection of awards will be based on each student’s volunteer work. Any student at the three local Sterling high schools – Park View, Dominion, and Potomac Falls — in good academic standing and committed to local community involvement is welcome to apply. Please note that this scholarship is intended for students in need of additional income support, and family income will be considered during this process.
A committee of dedicated Board members evaluates all applications, which are awarded at the end of the school year.
