Welcome to the
Sterling Foundation
Founded in June of 1989, the Sterling Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to serving the residents of Sterling, Virginia. For over three decades, we’ve collaborated with our network of community volunteers to enhance our surroundings, connect with our neighbors, and cultivate a welcoming and inclusive community. So whether you're a lifelong resident or a newcomer to Sterling, our goal is for you to feel a sense of belonging.
We are Community Focused!
When deciding which initiatives to pursue or which events to produce, we first ask ourselves if those efforts fit within our two main areas of focus for our Community's Beautification and Identity.
Beautification
First and foremost, we believe our esteemed community deserves to look its best! Beautification is at the heart of our mission and our history. Our foundation origins trace back to a single objective: to care for, clean and maintain our hometown thoroughfare, including Sterling Boulevard Maintenance, Annual Stream Clean Up, Welcome Sign Upkeeps, and Gardens Maintenance.
Identity
Second, we deeply value the identity of Sterling. We are a strong, unique and respected community, rich with traditions, diverse in citizenry and uniquely positioned as the welcome gateway to Loudoun County. Central to our community’s identity is SterlingFest, our lively annual event that celebrates our community spirit and cultural diversity. Through SterlingFest and other initiatives, we are dedicated to promoting, enriching and safeguarding Sterling's identity by engaging with our neighbors and strengthening our bonds as a community. This mission continues to this day, more than 35 years later.
