Teamwork, pride, and a little flair highlight Sterling’s community cleanup
On Saturday, October 4, a spirited group of volunteers came together for the Sterling Foundation’s annual Parade Route Cleanup. Armed with gloves, trash bags, and plenty of community pride, participants worked diligently to tidy the Sterling parade route—and, thanks to their impressive turnout, extended their efforts to include the Pueblo Unido grounds as well.
The event’s success was made possible through the support of several key partners. Corporate volunteer teams from Amazon.com and Food Lion brought energy and teamwork to the morning’s activities, while Keep Loudoun Beautifulprovided invaluable coordination and logistical support to ensure the cleanup ran smoothly.
Adding a memorable touch of fun, Aaron from the Sterling Ruritan Club made a surprise appearance dressed in a full suit, earning him the good-natured title of “Best Dressed” for the day. His enthusiasm—and attire—served as a reminder that community service comes in many forms, sometimes with a dash of flair.
The Sterling Foundation extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated. Your time, effort, and enthusiasm not only keep our shared spaces beautiful but also strengthen the bonds that make Sterling such a special place to call home.
