We’re waiting on one final number from VDOT for the solid waste weight.

Got the word from VDOT on Cinco de Mayo. For the trash bags and other solid waste:

I got your total of Debris that you guy’s picked up from the stream in sterling  it was a Grand total of 10.0 tons

  • 55 volunteers!
    • 11 from Annapolis-based Johnson Controls
    • 17 from PVHS
    • 13 from Sterling Foundation
    • 14 neighbors, including 8 children
  • 2 miles of stream
  • 1000 lbs of metal
  • 55 bags of trash (part of the 10 tons)
  • 22 bags of recycling ~200 lbs
  • Additional miscellaneous solid waste (the other part of the 10 tons)
    • 4 tires
    • 2 TVs
    • 18 sports balls (soccer, football, softball – you name it!)
    • Part of a 1960s-plated car trailer
    • 1 sectional couch
    • 1 set of household windows
    • 1 mattress
    • 3 car batteries
